About us
Established in 2001 DSL Telecom Ltd is an Inernet Service Provider specialising in high quality broadband and internet telephony. DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line, a technology which involves the conversion of an ordinary telephone line to digital broadband. The most popular variant of DSL Internet is ADSL and that provides a convenient cost effective way of getting broadband for most people.
ADSL is brilliant in urban areas where properties are fairly near an exchange but in rural areas it often doesn't reach. We soon turned our attention to this problem and became pioneers of Satellite DSL with our first installations taking place in 2002. Early Satellite systems were one way. The satellite was used for a broadband download whereas a dial-up connection was used for upfeed. Our modern Satellite systems are two way of course offering fast broadband speeds up and down. Our new generation service will be availabe from the start of 2011 and will offer unprecedented performance and value for money. Whilst new to Europe the technology has been in service for the past 2 years in America so the technology is well proven.
One of our initial aims was to develop the potential of DSL for providing low cost telephony. We have been offering cutting edge Videoconferencing and Internet Telephony products for many years. Recently we have teamed up with Skype as the market leading system they have developed is probably unmatched. Over DSL it works superbly and calls to other subscribers of Skype are completely free. Cost of calls to landlines are very much cheaper than conventional telephony. Internet telephony over satellite can result in a slight delay due to the distance the signal has to travel, but most people find that its not a problem.
The internet offers great potential for marketing a business. Over the years we have developed significant experience in this and have developed a range of offerings such as Web Site Hosting, e Mail marketing (to your customers who have given permission only- we do not condone spam), Customer satisfaction systems (e Surveys etc.) and Adword campaigns.
